We spent 7 hours in A n E and it was ok
A part from the long wait I received excellent treatment
Doctor was not friendly
The truth
The staff were very kind and helpful.
Overall treatment was excellent most of the staff knew, their role communicated effectively and information given was clearly explained.
I waited in A&E from 6.30 am last Friday morning. I was told at midnight I would be transferred to Queens Surgical Ward the following day. I was on IV antibiotics and slept in a bed in a room in majors for the night. I was told the following morning by the third Dr that I see while being there ..that I didn’t need to be admitted and I didn’t need antibiotics?!!! I went home and the following day, Sunday I had to go back to A&E as I felt worse. The Dr in Urgent Care told me I shouldn’t have been sent home!!!!! I was eventually given IV antibiotics and to wait a further 12 hrs, until midnight and was transferred by ambulance to Queens Hosp
When I got there the first person that did my obs was really good to me and concern.secondly I think I only waited for 30mins and then saw a doctor who was really lovely, caring and comforting. My only issues is when I went to sdec, I waited long to see doctors in regards to my thyroid scan, and at 1am they were telling me I was going to spend a night in a recliner chair, which I declined and eventually they found me abed.
At one point i have been transferred to ward, they gave me bed,the time was 11.30 pm and i was in the waiting area from 2.30.I was very hungry, feeling week and sick ,i'm a diabetic, and ask for something to eat.Staff they said we don't have nothing, i ask ,please at least some bread,is what i get 2 slices cold .
Next day 3pm sharp the nurse who was in charge told me ,you have to go to departure lounge because you are going home,I went and wait 3 hours in the chair ,sick and week.
My GP called the ambulance worrying about my health, upon arriving at King George hospital, waiting for some time they called me took blood tests and ECG and that was the end of my care.I arrived at the hospital around 12pm and in interval the nurse will come and take my blood pressure and was sitting down like an invisible creature. After 8 hours I tried to find out what was going on to no avail. At 8pm I told them I want to go home since I am not sick according to them. Again the nurse asked me to take another ECG, after that I had to wait for another one hour for a signature. At the end I signed myself a self discharge form and left the hospital without seeing a doctor around 8pm. It was the worst day of my life. Horrible sitting down with patients coughing, no masks etc.now I believe what I hear other people's complaints. It's shameful for hospital to behave like they are GOD.
